Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year!
Dear Families,
Welcome back to a brand-new school year at Thurgood Marshall School! Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of our vibrant K–8 learning community. I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and quality time with loved ones.
As we open our doors for the 2025–2026 school year, there is an incredible sense of excitement in the air. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been hard at work preparing classrooms, designing engaging lessons, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for every student. So, please be sure to join us on Tuesday, August 19th for the first day of school. Class lists have been posted, and schedules are available for pick up.
This year, we are especially focused on fostering a culture of belonging, academic growth, and curiosity. We believe every child should feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential—whether they are learning to read in kindergarten or preparing for high school in eighth grade.
Here are a few things to look forward to this year:
- Strong partnerships between school and home to support your child’s growth.
- Enriched learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.
- A focus on character, kindness, and community-building.
- Open communication—your voice matters. We encourage you to stay involved and connected.
Please be sure to check our website, newsletters, Parent Square messages and school calendar for important updates and upcoming events. We look forward to seeing many of you at Back-to-School Night and other family gatherings throughout the year.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Let’s make this a year of wonder, learning, and connection!
With gratitude and excitement,
Chantal Anderson Witherspoon
